My Stunning Studded Backpack :)

DIY Denim Backpack!
Crafty Little Me

So I recently got back into my crafty side again. Over the past 2 weeks, creative ideas have been running back and forth in my head...and its TOTALLY CRAY!.....okay so I have Pinterest to blame for this sudden outburst of ideas lol.

I can't help how short of an attention span I have when it comes to school stuff versus when it's time to get crafty lol. One of the crafty ideas I had been thinking about a lot, was to find a way to spice up my light blue denim backpack my boyfriend got me as a gift :) !!!!

I love seeing the different types of bags girls have to carry their school stuff in, whether it's an actual backpack, a larger purse, or a tote bag. I love admiring how some of the girl's personalize their bag with pins, ribbons, paint and other materials to make it their own.

For those who don't know me, I'm basically obsessed with bags, not just purses but backpacks and totes. I have no idea where this obsession first started but it happened and it's taking over my life :( lol jk! I just love when bags have the special "WOW" factor to them. But to me it means a little more when you add something to your bag that symbols you and your taste.

That's why I wanted to decorate my denim backpack!

The bag was bought at American Apparel and I believe my boyfriend said it was around 40 dollars. It took me a bit of time to know exactly what I wanted to do with it, to make it come alive. I did consider using my favorite colors of paint patterns and splatter it on the bag (but I didn't warm up enough to that idea), I also considered just putting different pins on it (but felt that wasn't something of my taste), I also thought of putting cute patches on the bag, I found an adorable patch on Etsy which I loved but it was a little big, and I questioned if it would fit in the area of the bag I wanted it to be.

....but FINALLY I thought of an idea that just felt right for me :)
I remember seeing a nice blue fabric with a small amount of dark pink and light pink which formed some floral designs, at Joanne's Fabric. Best believe that once I knew what I wanted, I got in my car and raced over to Joanne's! They had the fabric I wanted (so check) then I also wanted to add some studs to my bag as well so I definitely grabbed those off the shelf!

After collecting all my materials, time to get crafting! Okay so let me admit something first....I'm not the best sewer in the world :( Having that said I had to ask my Mama if she could help me stitch the fabric to the bag. With her skills she did an amazing job and if I did it myself...well I don't honestly know what the final outcome would have been lol :) After she finished I put the studs on which was a bit painful at times but I survived LOL!

I know that when some people see the final product, they may have thoughts like "That's it? It's so simple." But to me I love how my bag came out, I didn't want to do to much to it because I felt to much would be overwhelming to me. PLus I like things that cute and simple :)

Well with everything said and done here is my backpack!!! :)))
