Photography Is A Diary

Blessed To Do What I Love!
Photo Shoot ;)

Good Morning Blog World!

So yesterday was an amazing day to me because (like the title implies) I HAD A PHOTO SHOOT! Over the summer one of my best friends Daravatey had asked me if I could take pictures of her with her boyfriend as well as of her sister and her love. Of course I said yes!

I will admit I was a little nervous because this was my first time I would be taking a couples photo as well as a family photo. To help clam my nerves I went to Pinterest and just looked at a variety of different photographs of couples and family portraits. I did feel less nervous but I knew that once the actual day came my nerves would be back.

Yesterday was finally the day that Daravatey and I planned the photo shoot, and it was no surprise that I was getting cold feet lol. I was glad that the weather held up even though it said there was suppose to be some rain.

So with no further delay, here are my PICTURES!!!

Of course to finish off the photo shoot we just had to get a few pictures of Daravatey's sister's dog Haven :)

Until next time Everyone !!!

Thank You!

I'm Camp Deprived

"Green Acres Is The Place To Be"

OMG! Its the first Monday after camp has finished and I am ALREADY missing it!

Hello everyone, so as you can already tell by the title of this blog, I've been busy working at a summer camp for most of my summer! The camp that I was working at is called Green Acres Camp. It was such an AMAZING experience for me and I was extremely blessed to have been a part of the camp community :) The people who worked there were wonderful people.

I first found out about the photographer position through my boyfriend and another friend. I have to be honest with you guys, I was pretty nervous when I was filling out my application. But thanks to the encouragement I got from my boyfriend I became less nervous and more excited!

As camp was approaching, the camp administration staff held meetings so that the camp counselors had an opportunity to meet everyone. It was there at these meetings that I got to meet the other photographer I would be working with, Alicia.

SIDE NOTE--> In the previous blog post I mentioned that I went on a photo shoot with two girls. Well from the pictures I shared Alicia is the girl with the short brown hair!!!

OK, back to meeting Alicia for the first time LOL.So turns out Alicia was not just a camp counselor but she also spent her time as a camper back when she was a child. HOW ADORABLE IS THAT!?!?!?! I can just picture little Alicia playing on the playground at camp HAHA.

I got from my first impression of Alicia that she was a friendly funny girl...which she still lives up to! We hit it off really well and it also helped calm my nervous. She helped me  get familiar with the camp grounds and telling me where each different Unit was located. The camp was a day camp and was held at the school Green Acres!

It was nice to see that the school ran a camp in the summer for its kids, because it really helps the children to love their school and what it offers them.

As the first week of camp approached, Alicia and I came up with a routine for taking pictures of the different campers in their units doing their daily activities. We thought it would better that while one of us was out taking pictures the other would be inside on the computer editing and uploading the pictures to the camp website.

After the first week of camp the remaining five weeks went by in a blink of an eye.

I left camp with new friends and new memories that I will always cherish!
Some memories that will remain with me include lunch time with Alicia where we would sit and watch Hey Arnold, Lizzie McGuire or Even Stevens. Another fond memory I have was preparing for Vaudeville, which was an assembly that the camp counselors put on for the campers. The assembly was a blast for both the campers and counselors. The different acts were amazing to watch and it left everyone laughing!!

Green Acres was definitely a highlight of my summer. I wish to return next year and have the chance to work with everyone who returns. It was a great experience for me and I loved EVERY minute of it :)

Sunday Funday

Indeed Sunday Was Fun
Photo Shoot

Hey Everyone! Okay so I do apologize that I have been M.I.A for a while, I KNOW!! :(

A lot has gone on since school let out for summer. I got accepted to work at a friend's mother's  camp. I have been working there for 5 weeks now and currently this week is my LAST WEEK! It's kind of a bitter sweet moment. I love working at camp, because I get to do what I love and I feel that I am good at. I am one of the photographers!!! :) YEY

So with Camp kind of taking over my summer I did find time to do other things, whether it was catch up with friends, having craft days, or meeting up for photo shoots. And that was actually what I did this past Sunday Funday :)

Last Sunday (yesterday July 20th) I was able to get a NEW friend from camp Alicia (the other photographer) to model for me along with one of her friends Carissa.  This photo shoot was a lot of fun because we kind of went on a mini adventure to find a Sunflower field.

At first we didn't get the  address right because the actual location wasn't near the final destination the GPS took us to. The field was along the side of the road. So after we finally arrived we just got right into our photo shoot! We found a good spot within the Sunflower field. Of course it was a little awkward because other people were wondering the field too also taking pictures.

Alicia and Carissa were a lot of fun to work with. It was funny because whenever they posed together and I told them to "smile" or "act happy together" they would joke with each other and say mean playful things to one another like, "I don't want to be with her"  something along those lines. We all had a great experience. We went to two different locations. The first like I said was the Sunflower field and the other was at a park center near Alicia's home.

After our photo shoot we were all in favor of heading over to one of our favorite places to eat.....PANERA!!!!! It is one of the GREATEST places in my opinion lol :)
Like usual I stuck with my favorite choice, the large Mac and Cheese with a bread on the side. Panera totally filled us and was the topping to such a great day!

So with no more delay I really REALLY want to share with everyone my photos :) I hope you enjoy them!

Those were just a few of my favorite ones :) to see more of my work you can check me out on Facebook at Tamara Moran Photography or my Tumblr also Tamara Moran Photography.

Thank You so much for your time

My Three Mothers

  Happy Mother’s Day

Today we celebrate our mothers. The women who carried us in their tummies for nine months, the women who went through tough long labors to bring us into to this world. We want to celebrate all mothers, aunts and grandmothers, as well as some fathers who had to take on both roles.  We thank you!

I want to take the time to really appreciate three very important women in my life who I call my moms.

For those of you who don’t know, I am adopted.

Being a mother is a joy but can also be a very tough responsibility. Being a mother sometimes may call for some true tough heartbreaking sacrifices. As a mother, your job is to try to give your children a wonderful and healthy life. You want your children to be able to get an education and then see them live their life in the big world. My biological mother Jacqueline was one of those mothers who had to make a very tough decision. My mother had two children before she had me.  She was already struggling with money and knew having another child would be difficult. She couldn’t offer me the life she had planned. A good education for me was questionable. So she took the bravest step any mother or parent can decide…she give me up for adoption.

Adoption was the only choice she had in making sure that I could have a better and happy life. Hoping that some young couple would take me in, raise me as their own and see me grow up into a successful young woman.  Of course when I first learned about being adopted, I took it as if my mother hated me and didn’t want me. Only when I grew older and matured did I truly understand the meaning of her actions.

Unfortunately when I grew older, we tried to track her down and we found out that she had passed away. I wish I could have met her to tell her that her act of bravery really made a difference in my life.  I wanted to show her the young woman I had become and hoped to see her smile and be happy for me. Still, I know in my heart that she has been watching over me all these years, so she already knows that I am living the life she had dreamed about for me. So I want to wish my biological mother a Happy Mother’s Day!

My mother as a teen on the left...explains where I got my thick hair from lol :)

The next woman I would like to give thanks to is my Mama Nena, who is my grandmother.  Mama Nena is the mother of Veronica, the “Mama” who raised me. Mama Nena was a very caring and loving woman. My Mama Nena knew that my Mama wanted a child but could not have one of her own. Being a mother you want your children to be happy and you want them to experience motherhood as well. My Mama Nena on December 24 went to the hospital in search of a child she heard about in the adoption center who was available for foster care. That day she took me home with her and cared for me. On Christmas day she called my Mama telling her she got her a very special gift…me. I was a Christmas gift! My Mama and Papa at the time were overseas in Belgium on assignment. So from December 24, 1991 until March 30, 1992 my Mama Nena looked after me and cared for me as if I was hers. When I first heard this story I couldn’t believe it and felt very special. I got to witness yet another true act of love from a mother. Today was the first Mother’s Day my Mama experienced without her mom since Mama Nena died in August 2013. So Mama Nena from my heart to your heart I want to say Happy Mother’s Day!

Now for the third woman in my life….my Mama! My Mama is a truly lucky Mama. If it wasn’t for my biological mother giving me up, my Mama wouldn’t be here celebrating Mother’s Day. The first day my Mama got to see me she said it was the most amazing experience she ever had. My Mama said she felt some sort of spiritual bursting in her fourth Chakra, which deals with the heart. My Mama has helped raise me into the young woman I am today. I have learned from her so much and continue to learn from her. I know some days we may fight and say things we don’t mean but at the end of the day we know that we love each other. I always say that I see my mother as a sister because I was an only child growing up. She played with me when my friends couldn’t come over. She put up with my bizarre childish imagination and put up with my weird rules to games haha. My Mama has been there with me through every obstacle I have faced. She was my rock when I went through depression in high school. It was a tough time and she didn’t give up on me even though at times I wanted to give up so badly and just give up on life, but no she fought for me and with me, and I am truly blessed and thankful that she did. She has supported my dreams and is the reason I continue to study art and film because it is my passion. I love my Mama so so so much and will always love her. I couldn’t have asked for a better mother.

little me and my Mama :)

So Mama I want to wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day and a very Happy Birthday today. You truly are the best!!

To all my mothers HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY and BLESS YOU ALL

What Do I Do?

PHOTOGRAPHY ESCAPE!

Attention college students! You are aware that there is something terrible and horrible coming our way...

Finals, Finals, FINALS!

Yes it is that time of year which college students fear..Finals Week. Finals begin next week for my school, but fortunately for me I have one.. just ONE EXAM!!! Yes it is just one exam so I shouldn't be complaining, but unfortunately it is for Art History. Art History and I haven't been the best of friends this semester. Yes we have had our ups and downs, but it is an exam that I am very much nervous for.

So how did I cope with the idea that this exam is coming up...?!?!?

For those who know me and immediately thought of photography, you would be absolutely correct! Yesterday May 6th I asked my trusted roommate Lauren if I could take her pictures to one- relax me and two- to practice with my new lens!

Of course she said yes :)

So with out further delay here is a preview! Enjoy :)

Hope you all enjoyed, and for you college students GOOD LUCK!
