Today I Helped Rescue A Pigeon
So
today I woke up debating if I wanted to go to Michaels ( in Rockville)
or Joanne's Fabrics (in College Park). Thank God I was feeling too lazy
to the point that I didn't want to drive to Rockville because it just so
happens that when I went to the Shopping mall area where Joanne's
Fabric is located, an injured pigeon was in need of some rescuing! A lot
of people just looked at the poor bird and
just continued to walk away, not me! I literally sat next to the little
one and checked for any bleeding or serious injuries on the outside.
The pigeon did not attempt to fly away when I sat next to it. So I
called up 911 who directed me to Animal Control. When I called them they
said they would send someone as soon as they could. Well I was sitting
there for a good 20-25 minutes and still nothing. Then a man walked up
to me and asked if the bird was hurt. I told him that I didn't know for
sure, and I also told him that I was waiting for help. He then told me
that he did the same once but help for the bird he was trying to save
came the next day. The man then found a plastic bag helped me wrap the
bird up and directed me to a man in the mall with a Pet Store. So I
carried the pigeon through the mall and found the Pet Store, where a man
took the pigeon from me examined him and then looked at me and said,
"This little guy would be safe with him." He told me he would make extra
sure he could do everything in his power to make sure the bird would
feel safe and relaxed.
After I left the bird in good hands, I
couldn't help but think, "Wow if I had chosen to have gone to Rockville
I would have not been able to help this pigeon out. "
